Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge at MWC 2015 on March 1st but brought them to the world market in April. The Galaxy S6 Active has now arrived at AT&T exclusively, and the Galaxy S6 edge Plus has a name filing and is on the way, along with the Galaxy A8, which will debut on July 17th. With all the excitement surrounding Samsung products, we know that some of our readership is ready for a new Samsung tablet. Tab S2 rumors and leaks have circulated, but it seems as though Samsung’s got another “Pro” tablet preparing to make the rounds.
The latest leak concerns the Galaxy Tab S Pro, a device that we’ve not yet seen. Samsung filed for the Tab S Pro name on July 3rd to protect the name from being picked up and used by another manufacturer. This is not uncommon for companies who want to protect their future device nomenclatures.
Nothing is provided about the device specs and features, but perhaps looking at the Galaxy Tab S2 models that have already surfaced in photos and documents may help. Samsung is currently planning two Tab S2 models, an 8-inch and 9.7-inch model. In the event of a Tab S Pro, we could be looking at something above the 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch models of the original Tab S, although time will tell.
While we don’t have a release date for the Tab S2 models or the Tab S Pro that now has a name, Samsung has unveiled its Tab S models in August, so we could see an August or Fall product unveil. The stage is getting set for a Tab S Pro and an iPad Pro battle later this year.
