Samsung today launched the Gear Indie channel on Samsung Milk VR which is a 360-degree immersive virtual reality content service that's exclusive to the Gear VR. Through this new channel the company is going to highlight new content from the booming virtual reality filmmaker community, the channel will regularly feature fresh content that's sourced directly from independent filmmakers. The first batch of films range from time-lapse nature photography to dark comedy and car racing.
This will help Gear VR users and Indie fans alike to come across new content that matches their interests. Throughout the week more than ten videos will be released on Gear Indie and Samsung plans to roll out additional content every week in the future. To entice and reward content creators the company is going to launch a series of Gear Indie content creation challenges as well while offering them the opportunity to work directly with virtual reality mentors.
