Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ to have a 3,000 mAh battery

With Samsung having shifted to non-removable batteries on its flagships this year, and with the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge offering only average battery life for many users, everyone has been pretty anxious to know how big the batteries on the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are going to be. We had revealed many months ago that the Galaxy S6 edge+ would have a 3,000 mAh battery, and evleaks is today confirming the same just a day ahead of the phones' official announcement.

According to evleaks, the Note 5 will have a 3,000 mAh battery as well, and that is no doubt going to draw the ire of Note fans considering the battery size is smaller than the Galaxy Note 4. But we should keep in mind that the Note 5 (and the S6 edge+) will have a more power-efficient chipset; also, devices that are running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box have displayed considerably better endurance than the devices from earlier this year, so that could also be an important factor that could make up for the not-so-large battery inside.

In the end, we will have to wait for real-life tests to see whether Samsung's next flagships can fix one of the few issues that plague the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
