During the unveiling of the Galaxy S6 edge+, Samsung showcased some new software features such as Apps Edge, ability to save images in RAW format in the camera app, and slightly updated icons. We hoped that these features would be made available to the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge as their specifications aren't very different from the Galaxy S6 edge+.
Well, Samsung has already initiated a software update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge in Korea that adds some of those features. These new features include Samsung Pay, new icons and overall improved user interface, Apps Edge, and UHQ upscaler and Vacuum Tube Amp Pro for better audio. Samsung has also added a minor update to KNOX, no doubt as a result of the addition of Samsung Pay.
However, the update does not include features like shutter speed control or the ability to save images in RAW format. On the other hand, the Live YouTube Broadcasting mode has been added in the camera app. The update should hit the devices in Korea any time now, but if you can't wait to try out these new features, you can download the new firmware from our firmware section and flash it manually.
Update: This software update is now rolling out in Europe as well though only a few countries have received it so far.
