There was a time when Barnes & Noble used to develop its own tablets but the practice proved to be very costly for the company and it decided to go down a completely different route, it teamed up with Samsung to develop Nook tablets which basically had B&N custom software on a standard Samsung tablet. We've already seen quite a few models come out as a result of this partnership and today B&N expands its tablet offering with the new Galaxy Tab E Nook.
Barnes & Noble introduced this tablet today, it features a 9.6-inch display and a non-slip fabric-like material on the back for a comfortable and secure grip. It's powered by the custom Nook reading and entertainment experience which provides users access to books, magazines as well as TV shows and movies on the tablet. The tablet also has support for Samsung's Multi-Window feature which lets users run two apps simultaneously, there's a 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera with 16GB internal storage and microSD card support up to 128GB. Barnes & Noble has also launched a new Trade-In/Trade-Up limited time in-store promotion today which will offer credits of up to $200 to customers who purchase a new Nook by Samsung by trading in an older Nook, an iPad, a Kindle or select Samsung tablets from now until November 7. The Galaxy Tab E Nook costs $249.99 and is available for purchase starting today from Barnes & Noble stores as well as online at www.nook.com.
