When the Gear S2 was formally announced Samsung confirmed that it would start shipping its new smartwatch in various markets across the globe come October. Earlier this month we saw the company release the Gear S2 in a handful of markets and since then it has gradually made this device available in more markets. Today it's Australia's turn, the Gear S2 has been released in Australia and it's available for purchase through stores in Sydney, Melbourne as well as through online retailers. More local retailers will have the smartwatch in stock by the end of this month.
The Gear S2 is priced at AU$499 whereas the Gear S2 Classic costs AU$599. Both models run Tizen and feature a rotating bezel for a rather unique navigation experience, they offer a wide variety of features and thousands of applications for users to choose from. The Gear S2 is compatible with any Android smartphone running Android KitKat or higher, though in order to use features like Samsung Pay the smartwatch has to be paired with a Galaxy smartphone.
