The Gear S2 from Samsung is one of the few devices that support AT&T's NumberSync feature which lets users access the same phone number from multiple devices. What this means is that even if the Gear S2 owner leaves their phone behind at home they will still be able to make and receive phone calls as well as send and receive text messages from their main number even if the smartwatch is not paired with their smartphone.
AT&T has released a new software update for the Gear S2 today which enables the NumberSync feature on the smartwatch. Since NumberSync doesn't rely upon Bluetooth to function it provides freedom to the user, they don't have to carry their phone when they're out for a jog but would like to remain connected and have the ability to receive calls when they're out and about. The feature will also prove to be very useful when someone just forgets their phone at the home and office, they'll be able to use the Gear S2 to remain in touch till such time they go back to pick up the phone. To further promote its new feature AT&T has launched a new promotion for the Gear S2, it's offering the smartwatch for $99.99 with a two year agreement for a limited time.
