It has only been a few months since Samsung Pay was launched in the United States, the mobile payments service was initially launched in South Korea, and as it grows by adding support for more financial institutions in the US it may get even more useful in the coming year. Samsung has plans to enable users in the country to use Samsung Pay for online shopping.
Global co-general manager of Samsung Pay Thomas Ko said that online payment support “is coming soon,” aside from confirming that much more affordable Samsung handsets are going to start offering Samsung Pay “within the next year.” Two of the three handsets in the latest Galaxy A series do support Samsung Pay. As far as international expansion goes the company has already confirmed that Samsung Pay will be launched in China by early 2016 while last month we exclusively reported that the mobile payments service will go live in the United Kingdom and Spain in Q1 2016.
