Glympse today announced a collaboration with Samsung to provide location technology for driving apps and services on the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge. The feature will enable users to temporarily share their current location and estimated time of arrival with anyone in their contact list with recipients being able to watch as the driver moves from one place to another on a dynamic map.
Galaxy S7 users can share their location from several apps like MyPlaces which allows users to select favorite contacts to quickly and easily share location with just one tap of a button. Car Mode gets voice controls and larger buttons to enable easy location sharing even when both hands are on the steering wheel. If the recipient doesn't have Glympse they simply get a link which can be opened in a web browser to view the dynamic map. Glympse is launching this functionality with the Galaxy S7 but it's going to bring it to the Galaxy S6 lineup and the Galaxy Note 5 as well through an update for its app.
