Users with carrier-locked devices usually have to wait longer to receive software updates since carriers tend to hold up updates for tests and for adding bloatware. Those who own the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 edge on T-Mobile in the United States will be interested to find out that the carrier has now started testing the much-awaited Marshmallow update for these handsets. This means that T-Mobile Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge is one step closer to being pushed out the door.
T-Mobile's software support page shows that Marshmallow for these handsets has already gone through the first stage which is Manufacturer Development. Now that the update is with T-Mobile, the carrier is going to put it through a certification process before approving the launch and eventually rolling it out to end users. This process can take a couple of weeks and while T-Mobile hasn't provided a confirmed release date yet it shouldn't take too long now for Marshmallow to arrive on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge.
