The Gear S2 Band Adapter leaked in photos late last month and went live on a German retail site just last week, so it was only a matter of time before Samsung made it official.
Well, the day has come, as the company has officially announced the release of the Gear S2 Band Adapter for the worldwide market. The Band Adapter for the Gear S2 comes in two colors, dark gray and silver, and lets you pair any 20mm wristband on the market with the device itself. Now, you need only remove the original Gear S2 band, attach the adapter, and then lock in your favorite wristband to achieve the style you want. Samsung says that even the Gear S2 Classic wristband will now work with the original Gear S2.
Samsung has been on a roll lately, with the Korean giant committed to the idea of merging tech and fashion. Just last month, Samsung partnered with de GRISOGONO to produce a 100-diamond, gold-sculpted version of Samsung’s first circular smartwatch worth $15,000. The company’s Gear S2 Classic Platinum and Rose Gold variants, announced at CES earlier this year, are now available in India. With great design in the Gear S2 and all its variants, options for Ceramic bracelets and those of any material (including leather and metal), and four times as many apps as the wrist wearable had at launch just seven months ago, the Gear S2 is getting the kind of attention that Samsung only dreamed of back at the launch of the Galaxy Gear in 2013.
