The native WhatsApp app for Tizen has been updated today with support for a very important feature: voice calling. WhatsApp has flipped the switch for this feature on the Tizen-powered Samsung Z3 smartphone and this update will soon arrive for the Samsung Z1 as well. Users need to be on software version Z300HODD0BPD4 to use the voice call feature; this maintenance release is going to be released soon for the Samsung Z1.
WhatsApp voice calling arrived on the Samsung Z1 last year not too long after the company brought this feature to its iOS and Android apps. Since Tizen initially had an emulated version of the WhatsApp Android app users on this platform immediately got the features that WhatsApp added to its Android app. The official app is more stable on this platform and better suited to it, and now it has received one big feature that's already available on other platforms.
