During its SDC 2016 event in San Francisco, Samsung’s Executive VP of Media Solutions, John Pleasants, revealed that users of the firm's Gear VR headset have consumed more than 2 million hours of virtual reality content to date, which translates to over 228 years spent immersed in the VR world.
That's a pretty astonishing statistic when you consider that the Gear VR was initially released in small batches. It’s only the latest version, which carries a price tag of just $99, that was targeted at the mass market — so the company has done a fantastic job at ensuring there’s a sufficient amount of varied content suitable for all customers.
