After revealing plans to bring its mobile payment platform to seven additional markets this year, Samsung has today launched a pre-registration page in Singapore enabling eager customers to sign up for an opportunity to test Samsung Pay before it goes live for all compatible smartphones in the region. Unfortunately, it’s unclear how close the company is to rolling out the service to the masses, but if the time frame put in place for testing in South Korea is anything to go by, we should see an official launch within the next three-to-four weeks.
In order to get in on the beta testing action, you’ll need to own a factory unlocked variant of either the Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge or Galaxy Note 5 registered in Singapore and have an active Samsung account linked to a qualifying debit/credit card issued by MasterCard or Visa. Unfortunately, there’s only a limited amount of spaces available in the program, and they’re being distributed on a first come, first served basis — so if you want to start using the service sooner rather than later, you better act fast as hundreds of applications are flying in by the minute.
