I'm sure you've been in the frustrating situation where you have installed a useful application on your smartphone only to find that after a couple of hours you're the subject of a push notification attack. However, instead of uninstalling the app to save yourself the stress of continuously clearing the notifications, you can simply disable its permission to display alerts.
Here's how you do it:
- Open up Settings.
- Navigate into the Applications subheading.
- Tap on Application Manager.
- Locate and select the application you want to mute.
- Uncheck the box entitled “Show Notifications”.
- Hit OK.
