Last week Samsung announced the commercial availability of its new wearable device in select countries across the globe. Earlier today, Samsung Canada followed up with its own announcement confirming the availability of the Gear Fit 2 in Canada. The Gear Fit 2 is a new fitness tracking and activity measuring wearable device from Samsung.
It features a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED curved display, an embedded GPS and heart rate monitor, the ability to function as a standalone music player and to automatically detect the type of activity the user is engaging in before tracking their progress. There's also a 1GHz dual-core Exynos 3250 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, and a 200mAh battery. The Gear Fit 2 can be purchased in black, blue, and pink colors from five Samsung Experience Stores across Canada for $249.99. It will be available from other retailers in the third quarter of this year. The Gear Icon X, Samsung's first wireless earphones with built-in activity tracking features, will also be launched in Canada later this year.
