Samsung Pay has today received a long-awaited server side update in Australia and Singapore. In terms of added functionality, the upgrade introduces support for Citibank credit cards in the regions. It also transports a plethora of behind–the–scenes bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations to the application, which have been designed to make paying for goods using the platform an even smoother experience for customers.

“We are delighted to work with Samsung Electronics to offer our credit card customers a faster and easier way of making payments using Samsung Pay. Our value propositions are already best in each category and through this partnership, we bring added convenience to our credit card customers who can now simply use their mobile phones to tap and pay for their purchases,” said Sergio Zanatti, Head of Cards & Unsecured Loans for Citi in Asia Pacific.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of Citibank cards that aren't supported at this precise moment in time, which means that you're going to want to head over to Samsung Pay's website to see which cards are compatible and which are not. If you notice that yours isn't there, don't panic as the firm is continuously adding new cards to its lineup — so it shouldn't be too much longer until you see support for your card.
