Samsung routinely supplies components to other manufacturers so it's not surprising to hear that the company might be selling more of its technology. A new report out of Korea suggests that Chinese OEMs Xiaomi and LeEco could soon sell smartphones with dual-cameras because Samsung will be supplying them with the modules. Sources tell The Korea Herald that Samsung will begin supplying the modules starting next month.
Samsung Electro Mechanics is already supplying single-camera modules to Xiaomi. It's said that the dual-camera modules are meant for the Xiaomi Mi 5S handset that's due to be released in the second half of this year. The company is also expected to supply similar modules to Oppo as well. Samsung doesn't usually confirm the vendors that it works with so it's unlikely that the company will send out a statement confirming the supply of dual-camera modules to Chinese OEMs.
