Samsung won 27 awards at the Cannes Lions last year and this year it's taking it a step further. Samsung Electronics has won a total of 29 awards, including Creative Marketer of the Year, at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2016. The awards highlight Samsung's focus on consumer-centric campaigns as well as its contributions to creativity in marketing.
Eleven of the company's unique marketing campaigns were recognized at the global marketing awards show. Each campaign was designed to demonstrate Samsung's vision of enriching people's lives and creating a better world through technology and products. These campaigns also helped Samsung become the first Korean company to be awarded Creative Marketer of the Year. One of the festival's major winners was brainBAND, a wearable solution developed by Samsung to prevent and monitor the impact of concussions in high impact sports. Voices of Lives, an application solution which allows premature babies in an incubator to listen to the mother's voice also won an award.
“Wining “Creative Marketer of the Year”, the world’s most acknowledged award for marketing, is the outcome from the close collaboration of all marketing employees at Samsung and agency partners” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung, adding that the company will remain focused on expanding Samsung's brand through human-centric marketing campaigns.
