Samsung has announced that its Smart TV Software Development Kit (SDK) Preview Guide has now been publicly released. This has been done in the interest of securing developer content exposure and the expanding the single access experience for consumers. Samsung previously limited the Smart TV SDK Preview UI to a small number of applications made by selected partners. Developers use the Smart TV SDK platform to write apps for Samsung Smart TVs which are powered by the company's Tizen platform. The Preview UI guide is an important element of the single access content experience.
“We will continue to provide more access and additional content as we strive to expand our smart TV application ecosystem,” said WonJin Lee, Executive Vice President, Visual Display Business at Samsung. Anyone can now develop an application with the Smart TV SDK Preview UI which will ultimately provide consumers with a wide range of apps that adhere to the single access content experience. This also gives developers the opportunity to get more exposure and promote their services through Samsung's Smart TV's Smart Hub home screen. The Smart TV SDK Preview Guide is available for download from the Samsung Developers Forum website.
