Galaxy Note 5 owners on AT&T should keep their eyes peeled for an update notification today. The carrier has started rolling out a new firmware update for this handset which brings the latest security patches for the Galaxy Note 5. The update is being sent out over-the-air and since it's not a major release there's no compulsion for users to download it over a Wi-Fi network.
Software version MMB29K. N920AUCS2BPG1 has now been released by AT&T for the Galaxy Note 5. The update weighs in at 22.6MB and brings the July security patch to this handset. In order to receive this update over-the-air, users must be on the current software version ending in PE6. They can either wait for the update notification or open Settings and go to About device under the System category followed by Software update > Check for updates. All they have to do then is to follow the instructions on the screen to download the update. Verizon and T-Mobile have already released this update for the Galaxy Note 5 on their networks, while AT&T only released Marshmallow for the Galaxy Note 5 less than a month ago.
