Samsung is pulling out all the stops to make its presence felt at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The company has released a couple of short films to bring us the stories of some athletes who are breaking barriers to compete at the Games this year and it has even released a limited edition Olympic Games Edition of the Galaxy S7 edge. Samsung today introduced its global advertisement for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games titled “The Anthem.”
This TV and digital ad spot continues with the theme of breaking down geographic barriers to unite the world by putting together segments of national anthems from multiple countries to form one anthem that's brought to life by athletes and fans alike from across the globe. Expect to see the company's flagship handset because it's an advertisement after all. We see the Galaxy S7 edge travel to all corners of the world in a manner, not unlike the Olympic Torch, capturing and sharing the voice of fans and athletes singing lines from other national anthems. “By singing one anthem, fans and athletes across the globe can feel a shared sense of pride and unity and together celebrate collective progress, which is integral to the spirit of the Olympic Games,” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.
