Given that Samsung's new flagship smartphone will be out soon there will be many customers who would want to pick up one of its existing high-end handsets at a discount and that's precisely what T-Mobile is looking to capitalize on. A leaked internal memo shows that T-Mobile is planning a new promotion in which it will offer $200 off the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S7 edge and the Galaxy Note 5.
According to the memo, customers who switch to T-Mobile, port in their number and purchase any one of the handsets mentioned above on an equipment installment plan as well as activate it on a 10GB or higher data plan will get $200 off the device via monthly bill credit. Customers will be able to stack this promotion with T-Mobile's Carrier Freedom promotion that promises $650 per line via trade-in credit and prepaid MasterCard for trading in an existing smartphone. The memo mentions that this promotion will go live on August 3 just one day after the Galaxy Note 7 is unveiled. T-Mobile is also reportedly going to run a promotion for the Galaxy Note 7 in which it's going to give pre-order customers a free Gear Fit 2.
