The Galaxy Note 7 is a pricey smartphone, and Samsung and carriers are sweetening the deal for those who pre-order the device by offering freebies like a Gear Fit 2, a 256GB microSD card, and even a year's worth of Netflix. In Canada, Samsung is switching things up a bit and is offering its Level Box Pro wireless Bluetooth speaker as one of the gifts that consumers can choose from.
The other freebie remains the Gear Fit 2, in both small and large sizes as desired by the consumer. Most carriers in the country are offering the same deal and will simply redirect pre-order customers to Samsung's official website for the redemption of the free gift (Rogers will also throw in a free 64GB microSD card while supplies last). The phone itself is available in silver, black and blue in the country, and will go on sale on August 19th, the same day as the US.
The Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Edge display, a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal storage, a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, a 3,500 mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging support, an iris scanner (in addition to a fingerprint sensor), and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The phablet is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance; the S Pen is water resistant as well and comes with new features like word translation and the ability to create GIFs from videos.
