Following a successful launch in India and South Africa, the Tizen-powered Samsung Z2 has now received certification from the Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information (DG SDPPI) in Indonesia.
For those unaware of the DG SDPPI, it's essentially the Indonesia's answer to the FCC. It conducts the final batch of tests, and the overall result determines whether a new electronic product can launch in the region.
What's particularly interesting about this filing is that the handset has been listed as being locally manufactured in Indonesia. Last year, the company opened an assembly plant in Jakarta to produce low-cost smartphones, so it's good to see it being put to use.
Seeing as the DG SDPPI has approved Samsung's request to launch the device in Indonesia, it shouldn't be too much longer until it hits the shelves. It was recently added to the firm's website too, suggesting that it'll arrive sooner rather than later.
