Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 will work with any device running Android 4.4+

It's been revealed on Reddit today that Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier owners will be able to use Samsung Pay to purchase goods using their watch providing it's connected to any Android-powered smartphone running KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow or Nougat.

The fact that Samsung Pay can be used on the Gear S3 when it's paired to any Android device and not just Galaxy-branded handsets is pretty big news as it means that the firm is finally delivering on its promise to deliver equal functionality to all customers.
