Following its release in Thailand earlier this month, Samsung has today launched its mobile payment platform in Malaysia. Customers in possession of a credit, debit or prepaid card issued by CIMB, Citibank, Maybank or Standard Chartered can now store their details in the application, with compatibility for Hong Leong Bank arriving soon.
The South Korean company has also partnered with loyalty card firms B Infinite, BonusLink, and Sunway Pals for the launch; enabling users to ditch the plastic and start using Samsung Pay to collect points while making purchases in partnered shops, which can later be converted into cash.
Malaysia marks the eleventh country that Samsung Pay has expanded to following its debut two years ago in South Korea and the United States.
