Images of multiple Galaxy S8+ prototype units were leaked a couple of weeks ago, showcasing a dual-camera setup and a missing fingerprint reader on the devices. Now, clearer images of a similar Galaxy S8+ prototype have surfaced on the Internet.
There doesn't seem to be a model number mentioned on the device this time around, but it seems similar to the prototype of the Galaxy S8+ which was leaked earlier. You can clearly see two camera sensors, a heart-rate monitor, and a single-LED flash at the back. The UI of the device is similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. There doesn't seem to be a fingerprint sensor on the device.
Samsung reportedly poured a lot of money to help Synaptics in developing an on-screen fingerprint reader for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but the end results weren't satisfactory enough to be implemented into the devices before their mass production began. If the company successfully embeds a fingerprint sensor into the Galaxy Note 8, it would be a huge step forward for smartphones.
