Samsung SDI had started a new program in 2013 where it encouraged its engineers to get multiple master certifications. The employees who receive three or more master certifications get recognized by the company as ‘Tech Meisters'. Samsung SDI recently recognized seven more employees as Tech Meisters and added their names in the hall of fame at its Ulsan plant.
Samsung SDI's Ulsan plant is tasked with producing batteries for electrical vehicles. During the ceremony that was held last week at the plant, the company recognized seven engineers who became eligible for the Tech Meisters recognition during the first half of the year. They received certification trophies from the company's CEO Jun Young-Hyun.
“Your efforts to develop aptitude will become a base for the company’s competitiveness and technology accumulation. I hope more employees will follow suit to make the firm lead the battery technology industry,” Jun said of the tech meisters at the ceremony. Tech Meisters receive financial incentives and extra points in their performance evaluation.
