It's no longer a secret that the Galaxy S8 Active will soon be making its way to T-Mobile. AT&T is going to lose its exclusivity over Samsung's “Active” lineup this year. Even Samsung hinted as much when it launched the Galaxy S8 Active on T-Mobile. The company said at that time that the device would be exclusive to AT&T for a “limited time.”
Much has already been said and written about the Galaxy S8 Active for T-Mobile. Renders of the device were recently leaked online as well. Now, the T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Active has been spotted at the FCC.
T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Active
The Galaxy S8 Active bearing model number SM-G892U has been spotted in the FCC database. The handset is listed as having support for LTE Band 71, the same band that T-Mobile started deploying recently. This particular model of the Galaxy S8 Active also has support for T-Mobile's other LTE bands, such as Band 66.
The FCC filing doesn't mention T-Mobile by name. Then again, the filings never reveal such precise details about upcoming devices. They do offer hints and one can just extrapolate from there.
Samsung and T-Mobile have yet to confirm when the Galaxy S8 Active is finally going to arrive on Magenta. It's also unclear how much T-Mobile is going to charge for it.
