It appears that we may get to see proper Samsung foldable phone images at the company's upcoming developers' conference. Samsung was expected to only provide a preview of the user interface. However, a new report mentions that this will be the first time that Samsung actually shows off images of the actual device.
The Samsung Developer Conference 2018 kicks off tomorrow so we will find out soon enough. We did report yesterday about Samsung's confirmation that it will show the foldable display UX at SDC 2018.
Samsung foldable phone images incoming
A Samsung official tells Reuters that the company will show detailed images of the foldable phone at SDC 2018. However, it's unlikely that the phone itself will be on display at the conference.
The report also mentions that Samsung will talk about some of the foldable phone's key features for app developers at SDC 2018. It's looking for feedback from developers who will be crucial in creating an ecosystem of apps and experiences that take full advantage of the foldable display.
“Before we take it to the market, we want to share with developers what we’ve done so far and see what they think of it,” an unnamed Samsung official is quoted as saying.
Samsung hasn't confirmed a lot of details about its foldable smartphone as yet. Reports suggest that the device will have a 7.3-inch foldable internal and 4.6-inch external display. Both of them will be OLED panels. The internal display will hide completely when the device is folded in. The external display will then effectively make it double as a smartphone.
There has been a lot of hype about this device and the Samsung foldable phone images will fuel it even further. Many are interested in seeing what this device looks like. We have been hearing about it since 2013. It's about time we got a peek at it. We're attending SDC 2018 in San Francisco and will bring you these images if they're shown at the conference.
