T-Mobile subscribers owning a Galaxy Note 9 will have to wait a little longer before they can start taking better photos in the dark, as the carrier has released the latest security update for the device without a dedicated camera Night mode. The Galaxy Note 9's June update for the international Exynos model brought the Night mode feature for the camera and so did the Galaxy S9's, but T-Mobile has not bundled the feature in the updates it has pushed out to either model.
It should come as no surprise that T-Mobile isn't pushing out the same update that Samsung has released for the unlocked model in other countries. T-Mobile (along with other major North American carriers) has been behind schedule with the Night mode update for the Galaxy S10 as well, which is a shame as the dedicated Night mode makes for notably better photos in tough low-light situations. Here's hoping the feature is included in the next update that comes out for the three flagships on T-Mobile, along with the ability to scan QR codes right from the camera app.
Galaxy Note 9 owners on T-Mobile should be able to download the latest update over the air from the Software update menu of their phone's Settings app. Alternatively, they can download the latest firmware from our database and flash it on their Note 9 manually if they find that the over-the-air update isn't available for them just yet.
