A couple of recent leaks had revealed what Samsung's upcoming device looked like and the company has now announced it officially. The Galaxy A90 5G does indeed exist and it touts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Yes, this premium mid-range device has the same chipset as the Galaxy Note 10, largely because of 5G compulsions. It also happens to be Samsung's first non-flagship device to offer support for 5G mobile networks.
The Galaxy A90 5G is the pinnacle of Samsung's “Era of Live” strategy for its Galaxy A series devices this year. Samsung is targeting the younger, always-connected generation with this series. They will no doubt appreciate a more affordable 5G device that also has other respectable features.

The design itself is not all that different from other handsets in the Galaxy A series. It was initially rumored that the triple-camera system of this device will be mounted on a rotating slider like the Galaxy A80 but that's evidently not the case. The Galaxy A90 5G has a separate front-facing camera in addition to the triple-camera at the back. Speaking of the back, the company says that this device has a “unique geometric pattern” on the back glass and will be available in black and white color options.
You'll find the Snapdragon 855 under the 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The chipset is paired with Qualcomm's Snapdragon x50 5G modem. The device will be available with 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. There's a 48-megapixel primary sensor in addition to the 5-megapixel depth and 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensors.
Camera features like Super Steady, Scene Optimizer and Flaw Detector are all present. The 32-megapixel front camera also gets Live Focus mode for bokeh pictures. A 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging will keep the lights on.
Samsung will start selling the Galaxy A90 in South Korea from tomorrow. It will bring the device to other 5G markets in the near future. Pricing will vary by markets.
