The Galaxy S20 leaks are picking up the pace as we count down the days to Samsung's next Unpacked event. Much is already known about the new flagship series and the previously leaked CAD renders have also given us a general idea of what it may look like.
There has been a lot of talk about the new lineup's camera, particularly the setup on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which will be the top-of-the-line model. A new image has been leaked online which apparently shows what the camera setup is going to look like on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Galaxy S20 Ultra camera to boast 100x digital zoom
The Galaxy S20 Ultra specs that have been leaked so far suggest that this device will be an absolute beast. It's expected to feature a 6.9-inch 120Hz Infinity-O display with the Exynos 990 processor and at least 12GB of RAM. Samsung is going all out in the camera department for this device as well.
The camera specs include the new 108-megapixel primary camera coupled with a 48-megapixel telephoto and 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Samsung is going to use a periscope tech to allow for higher optical magnification on this series. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is said to be the only one in the series to offer an impressive 10x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
That's what the leaked image of the Galaxy S20 Ultra camera setup suggests as well. We can see the words “100X” placed next to the periscope module, the “marketing name of the zoom” placeholder suggests that Samsung is going to have a fancy term for this bonkers digital zoom. We reported two months ago that Samsung has filed a trademark for the term “Space Zoom,” perhaps it will be utilized for this device.
