You may have heard by now that August 5 is when Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Fold 2. While Samsung hasn't confirmed it yet, this will most likely be an online event, given what's going on in the world right now.
What hasn't been discussed so far is exactly when these devices will be available for purchase by the public at large. The latest information suggests that there might be a two week gap between the time they're unveiled to when they're available in stores.
Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 launch date revealed
Jon Prosser, a YouTuber better known for his accurate Apple leaks, also mentions August 5 as the date for Samsung's virtual Unpacked event. He goes on to add that the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be unveiled at this event and that these devices will be launched on August 20.
This is all within the realm of possibility. There normally is a gap of about a fortnight between when new devices are unveiled and when they hit shelves. The launch dates will obviously vary by market but we can expect that at least major markets like the United States and countries across Europe will get these devices on August 20.
Samsung hasn't confirmed anything of this right now. We can expect an official confirmation for the virtual Unpacked event to arrive at some point in the coming month.
