The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra were updated with the October security patch earlier this week, and at least the Ultra model is now receiving another software update. Where the previous update only had security improvements to offer, this one is a little more exciting, primarily because it aims to improve the phone's battery life.
In addition to battery life, the update also improves the stability of the camera and the Dark mode feature. It's unclear what those Dark mode stability improvements are about, as we haven't noticed any problems with it on any of our Note 20 devices, but if it wasn't working properly for you, the new update will hopefully make the necessary fixes.
The latest update is currently out in Germany and comes with firmware version N98xxXXU1ATJ1. It shouldn't be long before availability expands to other markets; the Galaxy Note 20 should also get the same update soon.
As always, you can use the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu to grab the latest update over the air. Alternatively, just download the relevant firmware for your country from our archive and use a Windows PC to make the jump to the latest build.
