Samsung is bringing the October 2020 security patch to the Galaxy Note 10 Lite with a new firmware update that's rolling out now in Europe. No, not the base Galaxy Note 20 model which could be a Lite model in its own right, but the actual Galaxy Note 10 Lite which was released in January and arguably fell into obscurity months later.
The latest firmware update including the October 2020 security patch is now available for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite in Spain. It doesn't seem to be available elsewhere at present but as always, the update's reaches will expand into additional markets sooner rather than later. Interestingly enough, the update is being rolled out in Spain where the Galaxy Note 10 Lite also got a head start with the One UI 2.5 firmware update last month.
The latest firmware for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite carries version N770FXXU6CTJ2 but at the time of writing we were unable to confirm if the package includes any new features. Nevertheless, the October 2020 security patch was detailed by Samsung last week and it's a most-welcomed addition. The patch addresses 21 vulnerabilities found in Samsung's software, one of which could be exploited to gain unauthorized access to content on the SD card and Secure Folder.
If you use the Galaxy Note 10 Lite in Spain, you should be able to download the latest firmware by tapping the update notification once it arrives or by opening Settings on the phone, accessing Software update and tapping Download and install. As always, you can also download the firmware from our website and install it on your phone using a Windows PC. Lastly, you can check our firmware archive for availability in other markets.
