After we exclusively reported that the Galaxy S21 series will be officially unveiled in January 2021, renders of the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21 Ultra surfaced. The first set of Galaxy S21 Ultra renders showcased a quad-camera setup, but the renders were later updated to include a penta-camera setup. Now, images of Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra cases have been leaked, making us think if the latter will really have five cameras on the rear.
The leaked image of a Galaxy S21 Ultra case shows four cameras and an LED flash at the rear. There is a possibility that the Galaxy S21 Ultra may only have four rear cameras and an unknown sensor. Nothing can be said for sure until we see some credible press renders of the device. Out of the four sensors, there could be a wide-angle camera, an ultrawide camera, and two telephoto cameras. Reliable leakster Roland Quandt has tweeted claiming that the part production of Galaxy S21 series smartphones has begun and that the official LED cover will make a comeback.
Images of the Galaxy S21's jelly case and a third-party folio case have been leaked as well. They show a much thinner cutout for the rear-facing camera, pointing towards a triple-camera setup. The Galaxy S21's LED flash could be placed outside the glass-covered camera bump. In any case, we should get a clearer picture (and maybe specs leak) of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra in the coming weeks.
