Galaxy S21+ and iPhone 12 Pro Max duke it out in early hands-on video

The Galaxy S21+ got exposed in another hands-on video following yesterday's surprise appearance on camera. This time, the source uploaded a comparison video on YouTube starring the Galaxy S21+ and one of its biggest rivals, the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The exact dimensions of the Galaxy S21+ are unknown but, by the looks of it, the phone has a footprint similar to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The latter measures 160.8 x 78.1 x 7.4mm and they each have a 6.7-inch display.

However, as evidenced through the hands-on video below, the Galaxy S21+ and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are nothing alike despite their apparent similarities on-paper. This is because Apple's display notch formula hasn't changed much, and because the Galaxy S21+ has an Infinity-O display design just like its predecessors.

The camera housing is another area that highlights just how different the design philosophies of Samsung and Apple have become. Each phone has three cameras – though the iPhone has an additional ToF sensor – but they don't look anything alike.

Samsung should unveil the Galaxy S21 series on January 14 and industry watchers believe that the Korean tech giant chose an early launch as a way to bring the fight closer to Apple and the iPhone 12 lineup. Now, granted, the Galaxy S21 Ultra would be a more appropriate rival to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but how do you think the latter compares to the Galaxy S21+ model judging by the hands-on video below? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
