After launching a brand new smartwatch alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series a few months ago, Samsung appears to be readying a new color variant of the Galaxy Watch Active 2. This new color variant will reportedly be unveiled early next month during the announcement of the Galaxy S21 series.

According to trusted leakster Evan Blass, Samsung will launch the Rose Gold variant of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 on January 14. He also published the first press renders of the upcoming smartwatch. The upcoming color variant of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 appears to feature a purple-colored band paired with a rose gold-colored metal case. It matches the Phantom Violet color variant of the Galaxy S21+ that was leaked a few days ago.

Galaxy Watch Active specs recap

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes in 1.2-inch and 1.4-inch screen size variants. It has a circular Super AMOLED screen with 360×360 pixel resolution, Gorilla Glass DX+, Always-On Display, and a touch bezel. It features the 10nm Exynos 9110 processor, 768MB/1.5GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, GPS, LTE (in some variants), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC.

The watch features activity tracking, a heart rate monitor, ECG, fall detection, and sleep tracking. Its design is IP68-certified for up to 50m water resistance and has a MIL-STD-810G-compliant body for drop resistance. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is powered by a 247mAh or 340mAh battery, depending on the variant, and features wireless charging.
