From November through December, Samsung rolled out the Android 13 update (One UI 5.0) to all the variants of the Galaxy Z Flip. Now, the company is pushing the December 2022 security patch to the foldable smartphone. The latest update is currently rolling out to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Flip on Sprint (CDMA) in the US.
The latest firmware version for the Galaxy Z Flip is F700USQS5HVL2, and it brings a December 2022 security patch with it, which fixes 93 security vulnerabilities. The other variants of the smartphone should also start getting the latest security updates within the next few days.
Typically, the phone will notify you about the new software update. However, if it hasn’t, you can check for the new update manually by heading over to Settings » Software updates and clicking on Download and install. You can also download the update from our database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy Z Flip was launched in 2020 with Android 10 and One UI 2.0 out of the box. Since then, it has received Android 11 and Android 12 updates, and it is currently running the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software. Since Samsung has promised to offer three major Android OS updates to the device, the Galaxy Z Flip will not get the Android 14 update.
