Samsung became the first Android smartphone brand to release the February 2021 security patch. The latest security update was first released to the Galaxy S20 series and then to the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S20 FE, and the Galaxy A8 (2018). Now, the company is releasing the update to the Galaxy A50.
The Galaxy A50 is receiving the February 2021 security patch in Thailand right now, but it could soon be rolled out in other markets as well. The new update, which carries firmware version A505FDDU6BUAA, is still based on Android 10. However, since this is a U release, Samsung may have included other improvements apart from the new security patch. We don't have the official changelog yet, so we are unsure which other improvements are a part of this update.
If you are a Galaxy A50 user in Thailand, keep your eyes on a possible notification regarding the new update. You can also manually search for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install on your Galaxy A50. Alternatively, you can download the entire firmware from our firmware section and flash it manually.
