After releasing the April 2021 security patch to the Galaxy M10 earlier today, Samsung has started rolling out the May 2021 security patch to the Galaxy A51. The new update for Samsung's best-selling smartphone is currently available in Russia and is expected to hit more countries over the next few days.
The new software update for the Galaxy A51 with the May 2021 security patch has firmware version A515FXXU4EUD7. While an official changelog isn't available yet, it is likely that the new update won't include any new features and will be restricted to security and bug fixes. Samsung hasn't yet revealed exactly which security vulnerabilities are fixed by the May security patch.
If you are a Galaxy A51 user in Russia, and if you haven't received a notification for this update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. If you don't want to wait for the OTA update, you can download the latest firmware for the Galaxy A51 from our firmware section and flash it manually.
The Galaxy A51 was launched in December 2019 with Android 10-based One UI 2. It started receiving the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update earlier this year, bringing various new features and a refreshed UI design. Last month, Samsung started rolling out the One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy A51 last month.
