Samsung announced The Premiere 8K UST (Ultra-Short Throw) projector at CES 2023. This new projector is a more advanced version of The Premier 4K UST projector that the company launched in 2020. As opposed to traditional projectors, ultra-short throw projectors can display a large image from a very short distance from the wall.
As the name suggests, The Premiere 8K has an 8K resolution, which makes it one of the very few models in the market that can project content at that resolution. While The Premiere 8K isn’t the first 8K projector in the market, the company says it is the first 8K projector that can display an image up to 150 inches wide diagonally. As for audio, the projector has in-built speakers with Dolby Atmos, and Samsung has packed it with the same Tizen OS that you find in the company’s smart TVs, which means it has all the smart features like AirPlay, Alexa, Bixby, G00gle Assistant, Q-Symphony, SmartThings, Samsung Health, Samsung Gaming Hub, Tap View, and more.
Apart from those details, the company hasn’t revealed anything else about The Premier 8K, which means that its pricing and availability details are still up in the air. Typically, Samsung’s audio and video products that are announced during CES 2023 make it to the market around spring or summer. So, expect The Premier 8K to be available in Q2 2023.
Although the pricing of The Premiere 8K is yet to be announced, we can certainly take a guess at it. Samsung’s The Premiere 4K 130-inch projector is priced at $6,499. Considering that The Premiere 8K is more advanced, it will be even more pricer. Other 8K projectors in the market start at around $11,000. So, expect The Premier 8K to be priced somewhere around that. Although that would be a hefty price tag, you also have to consider that The Premiere 8K is a one-of-a-kind product.
