Apart from a bunch of exciting new products, including home appliances and TVs, Samsung unveiled the SmartThings Station at CES 2023. For starters, it is a multi-talented device that can control all of your SmartThings or Matter-compatible smart home devices and wirelessly charge your phone or wireless earbuds.
The SmartThings Station comes with a physical button that users can use to easily trigger smart home routines created on their SmartThings app. This smart home control hub is easy to use and set up. Because the SmartThings Station lacks a display, it will send a notification to the connected Galaxy smartphone or tablet when powered on. You can set up devices by simply scanning QR codes, and your Galaxy smartphone or tablet's screen will act as the primary display.
You can connect multiple devices, including thermostats, lighting, power outlets, and other devices to create an environment suitable for you. With a single press, you can perform various tasks, such as switching off the lights and closing the blinds, which are some of the examples Samsung listed.
The SmartThings Station can store up to three routines that can be triggered with a short press, a long press, or a double press. You can also use the smart home hub to locate your Galaxy device. The best part of the SmartThings Station is that it doubles up as a wireless charging pad. You can place your compatible device on top of the station and get up to 15W of wireless charging speed.
The SmartThings Station will be available for users in South Korea and the US. It will be available in just two colors, black and white, which is fairly standard. The price of the device hasn't been revealed at the moment. However, it will be listed on the official website and in offline Samsung stores by February 2023.
