Leaked Galaxy S23 teasers suggest amazing nighttime camera performance

The Galaxy S23 launch is certainly drawing near, and as is usually the case before major Unpacked events, leaks are beginning to crop up more often the closer we get to the official release. A couple of official teaser videos have now leaked in GIF format! Although they don't reveal the Galaxy S23 series itself, they confirm a triple-camera setup (at least for the Galaxy S23 and S23+) while giving us a preview of the things Samsung is focusing on for the 2023 flagships.

The teaser videos are full of buzzwords and catchphrases such as “Mode for moonlight,” “Capture the night, even in low light,” “Stunning night photos are coming,” “Megapixels that will make you say wow,” “Wow-worthy resolution is coming,” and “soon.”

Galaxy S23: A greater focus on the mobile photography

We're guessing these short promo videos are two out of many. Other similar teasers will likely focus on different aspects of the Galaxy S23 series, such as design, performance, and so on.

But from what we can gather from these two teaser trailers, seen below, Samsung is doubling down on its mobile photography tech. We've been hearing rumors about the Galaxy S23's series improved camera capabilities for a few months now, and these leaked official teasers certainly fall in line with those expectations.

It's safe to say that Samsung has worked on improving nighttime photography for the Galaxy S23 series. Low-light photography appears to be the primary focus, at least judging by these teasers, but it's probably safe to assume that the camera experience has improved across the board — in any lighting conditions.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to feature a 200MP primary camera based on an upgraded version of the ISOCELL HP1 sensor. The Ultra model should also have a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, and a second telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, along with a 12MP ultrawide shooter. The Galaxy S23 base and Plus models may have similar camera resolutions as last year's flagships.

Samsung should unveil the Galaxy S23 lineup in early February 2023. The Unpacked unveiling will likely be followed by a pre-order period of roughly two weeks.
