The Galaxy S22 Ultra will reportedly break AMOLED display brightness records and set a new standard in this category. So, business as usual in the land of Samsung's flagship phones. The company has been breaking display brightness records for years with every new flagship, and it's logical to assume that the upcoming Galaxy S22 Ultra won't be any different in this regard.

Samsung breaking display brightness records shouldn't surprise any established fans of the brand. But if you're new in the crowd, you might be happy to learn that the company's top-tier flagships achieve a higher peak brightness level virtually every year. According to a recent Twitter rumor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has reportedly set a new display brightness record, presumably somewhere in Samsung's testing labs.

Galaxy S22 Ultra leaked specs so far

The Galaxy S22 Ultra was previously rumored to feature a 6.5-6.6-inch AMOLED display. The panel should be capable of a 120Hz refresh rate, and again, it will most likely be Samsung's brightest AMOLED smartphone panel yet.

Rumor has it that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the only model from the upcoming flagship lineup to have an LTPO backplane, which offers higher energy efficiency amongst other advantages over LTPS solutions.

Samsung is rumored to unveil the Galaxy S22 series at a new Galaxy Unpacked event in January. By all accounts, it won't have UDC technology (Under-Display Camera). And so far, the first Galaxy S22 Ultra camera design leaks have raised the most questions about the upcoming phone. Thankfully, the design might not be final, and more recent renders have shown signs of improvement.
