Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra on February 1 during the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event. However, you don't have to wait until then to check out the specifications of the smartphones. WinFuture has leaked the complete specifications of the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+.
Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ specifications reveal selfie camera upgrade
The South Korean firm's upcoming high-end smartphones are iterative upgrades, bringing improvements to performance, cameras, software, and battery life. According to the report, the Galaxy S23 has a 6.1-inch Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S23+ has a 6.6-inch screen. Both phones have Full HD+ resolution, a 48-120Hz variable refresh rate, HDR10+, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Both phones are 7.6mm thin and have similar dimensions (slightly wider) to their predecessors.
On the front, Samsung has equipped them both with a brand new 12MP F2.2 selfie camera that can record up to 4K 60fps HDR10+ videos. The front camera most likely also features dual-pixel autofocus. On the rear, the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+ have a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The rear camera can record up to 8K videos at 30fps and 4K videos at up to 60fps.
Both smartphones run Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box. Samsung's new phones will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor globally, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. The Galaxy S23+ will also be available in a 512GB variant.
Other features of the phones include an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, an IP68 rating, 5G, dual-SIM card slot + eSIM, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, UWB (only on Galaxy S23+), NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port. They also feature Samsung Knox, Samsung DeX, 10W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy S23 is powered by a 3,900mAh battery and is capable of up to 25W fast wired charging. The Galaxy S23+ has a 4,700mAh battery with up to 45W fast wired charging. Both devices will be available in four primary colors: Black, Cotton, Green, and Purple.
Galaxy S23 pre-orders will bring free storage upgrade
While the official pricing hasn't been leaked, the report claims that Samsung will offer free storage upgrades to those who pre-order a Galaxy S23 series phone. It means that you will get a 256GB version of the phone for the price of the 128GB version and a 512GB version of the phone for the price of the 256GB variant. Samsung is already offering a $50 in-store credit if you pre-reserve a Galaxy S23 series device.
Previous reports claim that the Galaxy S23 pricing will start at $899, while the Galaxy S23+ could be priced at $1,099.
