Samsung will launch the Galaxy S22 series in early February — SamMobile exclusively learned last month. And now, a new report appears to have pinpointed the exact time and date when the big event is supposed to happen.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S22 series on February 8 at 10:00 AM ET, according to a new leak from @jon_prosser. The Galaxy S22 trio will enter a one-week pre-order period on the same day (February 8) and have a release date of February 18.
The pressure is off the Galaxy S series
The Galaxy S21 lineup had a big responsibility on its shoulders when it hit the stores in January 2021. One reason why Samsung released it earlier than usual was to counter the launch of the iPhone 12 series. The strategy paid off, as the S21 series was able to fend off Apple's finest products and take the lead in Q1.
For next year, however, Samsung appears to have gone back to a more relaxed attitude with the Galaxy S22 lineup. The company no longer needs to take safety measures against Apple and release the flagship shortly after New Year's. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 appear to have captured the spotlight well enough to divert attention away from Apple's lineup.
The design of the Galaxy S22 flagship trio has been a hot topic of conversation in the past few weeks on account of various renders and leaked hands-on photos. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will look similar to the models they'll replace, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be more unusual. It has a dedicated S Pen holster, and its camera design won't look anything like the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
