Samsung is now developing the Galaxy A53 as its next hero device for the upper mid-range market. Not much is known about the phone aside from the purported camera specs and color options, but its alleged design may have just gotten revealed in a series of unofficial, high-quality renders shared by @OnLeaks and Digit.

The Galaxy A53 5G looks like an evolution of the Galaxy A52 5G, as it should. It retains the overall look of the camera bump but refines it with softer corners and edges. The metallic frame looks prominent, though this design detail might not be entirely accurate in renders. Still, the phone looks good, or rather, this fan representation of what the phone could look like based on leaked specifications does. But see for yourself and be the judge.

Goodbye 3.5mm standard connector?

Samsung is gradually getting rid of the 3.5mm audio connector on more of its Galaxy phones. It even recently removed this feature from an M-branded phone — the Galaxy M52 5G. The trend will probably continue, as judging by these renders, the upcoming Galaxy A53 5G will also ditch the 3.5mm connector. Instead, relying on Bluetooth and the USB-C port to connect with external speakers, headphones, and earbuds.

The good news is that wireless earbuds are now better and more affordable than before, and there's a wider selection of USB-C headphones on the market. The bad news is that if you have audiophile-grade equipment that requires the 3.5mm standard, you'll have to use a dongle to connect your gear to the phone. Most users will do just fine without the 3.5mm audio port.

The Galaxy A53 5G will reportedly have a thinner profile than the Galaxy A52 5G, the latter of which measures 8.4mm. Hopefully, the slimmer profile was helped by the audio port's removal and clever use of internal space rather than taking away from the battery capacity.
